Hamilton County Speedway unveils aggressive 2021 schedule

The Hamilton County Speedway is determined to be best racetrack with the best racers battling for the best payouts in the State of Iowa and surrounding regions, and with the release of their 2021 schedule it looks like they’re well on their way.

At least 27 nights of action across 21 events are penciled-in at the historic dirt oval in Webster City, Iowa, with Olsen Family USRA Modifieds, Seneca Foundry USRA Stock Cars, Stein Heating & Cooling USRA B-Mods, Diamond in the Rough USRA Hobby Stocks and MyRacePass USRA Tuners serving as the featured classes during Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series events.

‘Show me the money,’ was an iconic quote from the title character in the movie Jerry Maguire, and the track’s promotional team is gearing up to do just that.

The schedule includes four Modified Madness events with the winner’s share on those nights starting at $2,000 on April 24 and concluding August 28 with a $10,000-to-win show. B-Mods will also compete for big money on these nights.

For the full-fendered fans, there are four Stock Car Challenge shows with top prizes of $1,000 on April 10 and growing to $3,000 to win the final one August 7. Hobby Stocks get much more during these events too.

The fire-breathing Modifieds of the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey's will compete for $10,000 to win on June 5. The Malvern Bank SLMR Super Late Model Series invades on April 7 and June 19.

New events in 2021 include the inaugural Wreckage by the River team demolition derby on Saturday, May 1, with nearly 120 entries already registered for this $30,000 event.

Then on Friday and Saturday, June 25-26, the inaugural Hawkeye 600 enduro will feature 300 laps of racing and $10,000 to win each night, plus $5,000 to the best overall finisher for both nights.

Saturday, April 10 – Season Opener/Stock Car Challenge: Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring $1,000 to win Stock Cars and $500 to win Hobby Stocks.

Saturday, April 17 – Malvern Bank SLMR Super Late Model Series ($3,000 to win) plus Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Saturday, April 24 – Modified Madness: Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring $2,000 to win Modifieds and $1,000 to win B-Mods.

Saturday, May 1 – Wreckage by the River Team Demo Derby.

Saturday, May 8 – Kids Night: Super Late Models powered by Jerry Goebel State Farm plus Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring car rides, candy toss and coin dash for the kids plus $1,000 to win Modifieds, $700 to win Stock Cars, $500 to win Hobby Stocks and $400 to win Tuners.

Saturday, May 15 – Modified Madness: Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring $3,000 to win Modifieds and $1,500 to win B-Mods.

Saturday, May 22 – Salute to 2021 Seniors: Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series/Stock Car Challenge featuring $1,500 to win Stock Cars and $750 to win Hobby Stocks.

Saturday, June 5 – Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey's featuring $10,000 to win Modifieds plus Kids Night and Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Saturday, June 12 – Fan Appreciation Night: Super Late Models powered by Jerry Goebel State Farm plus Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring $1,000 to win for all classes.

Saturday, June 19 – Bill Rice Memorial: Malvern Bank SLMR Super Late Model Series ($3,000 to win) plus Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Friday-Saturday, June 25-26 – Inaugural Hawkeye 600 enduro featuring 300 laps and $10,000 to win each night.

Saturday, July 10 – Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series/Stock Car Challenge featuring $2,000 to win Stock Cars and $1,000 to win Hobby Stocks.

Saturday, July 17 – Salute the Troops: Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series plus Super Late Models powered by Jerry Goebel State Farm. Active and retired military get in for free plus $1,000 to win for the class with the most cars.

Tuesday-Sunday, July 20-25 – Hamilton County Fair. More details to come.

Saturday, July 31 – Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series/Modified Madness featuring $5,000 to win Modifieds and $2,000 to win B-Mods.

Saturday, August 7 – Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series/Stock Car Challenge featuring $3,000 to win Stock Cars and $1,500 to win Hobby Stocks.

Saturday, August 21 – Driver Appreciation Night: Super Late Models powered by Jerry Goebel State Farm plus Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. Fans get in for free with a driver ticket.

Saturday, August 28 – Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring Modified Madness ($10,000 to win) plus $3,000 to win B-Mods.

Saturday, October 2 – Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series plus Fall Brawl team races.

Thursday, October 21 – Open practice.

Friday-Saturday, October 22-23 – 20th Annual Fall Futurity: Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series plus Super Late Models powered by Jerry Goebel State Farm plus Candy Cornhole Tournament on Saturday.

One of the many new improvements to the facility is a new 170-foot-long infield catwalk along the front-stretch. New lights and much more are already finished, underway or in the planning stages.

The Hamilton County Speedway is located off US 20 at exit 140, then 1.2 miles north, then 0.5 mile east on Bank St., then 0.4 mile south on Bluff St. to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Webster City, Iowa. The physical address is 1200 Bluff St, Webster City, IA 50595.

Opening in July 1910, the Hamilton County Speedway is the oldest speedway in the state of Iowa. In 1938, work began on the current location at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds and was completed in the spring of 1939 with the first races held in September of that year.
