It appears that Mother Nature is back on the side of auto racing, and the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, Iowa, will kick off the 2022 season this Saturday, May 7.
The Mother’s Day special at the historic half-mile will see Olsen Family USRA Modifieds, Seneca Foundry USRA Stock Cars, Stein Heating & Cooling USRA B-Mods, Diamond in the Rough USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners on the card for the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series event.
Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 with racing to follow. And don’t forget, all moms get into the grandstands for just $5.
Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win and $150 to start; Stock Cars get $700 to win and $120 to start; B-Mods race for $600 to win and $110 to start; and Hobby Stocks vie for $500 to win and $100 to start.
“If you are tired of racing for peanuts, watermelon and no respect, this will be the place to be on Saturday nights,” said promoter Todd Staley.
Defending track champions are Kyle Brown (Modifieds), Myles Michehl (Stock Cars), Ty Griffith (B-Mods), Scott Dobel (Hobby Stocks) and Jade Lange (Tuners).
