Hamilton County Speedway to host Super Late Model Summer Series

Officials at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway have announced details for the Super Late Model Summer Series presented by Jerry Goebel State Farm—a five-race mini-series at Webster City, Iowa's historic half-mile dirt oval.

The dates for the Super Late Model Summer Series presented by Jerry Goebel State Farm are May 21, June 11, July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 27. Each night will pay $1,000 to win with a $1,000-to-win points fund.

SLMR Rules will be used for all five events. These dates do not conflict with either the Malvern Bank SLMR West Series or Hoker Trucking SLMR East Series schedule.

Payouts at each race: 1. $1000, 2. $700, 3. $600, 4. $500, 5. $400, 6. $350, 7. $300, 8. $250, 9. $225, 10. $200, 11. $180, 12. $170, 13. $165, 14. $160, 15. $155, other starters $150.

Points fund: 1. $1000, 2. $700, 3. $600, 4. $500, 5. $400, 6. $375, 7. $350, 8. $325, 9. $300, 10. $300. Drivers must race all five events to be eligible for points fund money.

There are no entry fees for these shows and payouts are guaranteed regardless of car count. The points fund for the five-race mini-series will be paid on Aug. 27 at the conclusion of the Bill Rice Memorial which pays $7,000 to win the Super Late Model main event.

All five events are made possible by support from Jerry Goebel State Farm Insurance, Burke Plain Plumbing, Christie Door Company, Fertilizer Equipment Specialists, Stein Heating & Cooling, The Trashman and Allen Uhrhammer Farms.

Fans will also witness action in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring Olsen Family USRA Modifieds, Seneca Foundry USRA Stock Cars, Stein Heating & Cooling USRA B-Mods, Diamond in the Rough USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners at each event. The Karl Chevrolet Dirt Truck Series is also on the May 21 card.

Opening in July 1910, the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway is the oldest speedway in the state of Iowa. In 1938, work began on the current location at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The semi-banked half-mile dirt track was completed in the spring of 1939, and the first races were held on the track in September of that year.

The Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway is located off US 20 at exit 140, then 1.2 miles north, then 0.5 mile east on Bank St., then 0.4 mile south on Bluff St. to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Webster City, Iowa. The physical address is 1200 Bluff St, Webster City, IA 50595.
